Mary Amparo Morones (Garibay)

Mary Amparo Morones (Garibay), 98, passed away peacefully at her home with family by her side on Thursday, October 2, 2014. Mary was born in Montemorles Mexico, April 23, 1916, daughter of the late Palagio and Francisca Garibay. She was united in marriage to Juan Morones. Together they raised a family of eight children. Mary devoted her life to her family and will be deeply missed. Mary was a lifetime member of Holy Name Catholic Church (St. Richards). Mary enjoyed cooking, reading and spending time with her family. Mary is survived by her eight children Mary J. (Alfonso) Arizola, Raymond Morones, Joseph (Dora) Morones, Mary H. Snow, Francisca Morones, Mary A. Scott, Patricia Morones and Susan Morones. Mary is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, as well as many relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents’ Palagio and Francisca Garibay and her loving husband, Juan Morones. The family will receive guests on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Strouf Funeral Home until the time of service which begins at 11:00 a.m. Burial services will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff from the Hospice Team from Wheaton Franciscan and Strouf Funeral Home for their compassion and care through this difficult time.
