Marcellus “Nino” Martinez, 32, of Racine, passed away on Monday, November 5, 2018.  He was born September 4, 1986, son of Phyllis Canady and Marshall Nathan in Chicago, Illinois.  Nino was employed at Roots Residential, a job he bragged about and enjoyed.  He always talked about his job with a smile.  He loved his kids more than life itself and enjoyed the time spent with them.  Nino loved to laugh, crack jokes, rap and argue.  He was an ambitious person with a go-getter attitude and ALWAYS had to be EXTRA in everything he did.

Marcellus leaves his memories to be cherished by his loving children Taliyah Curtis (Cierra), Zamarion Gray (Zikiya), Malayasia Martinez (Monique) and unborn son Marcellus Martinez, Jr. (Ra’Sheda), his significant other Ra’Sheda Thomas, his parents Phyllis Canady (Sam Beavers) and Marshall Nathan, his sisters Mary Coleman (Efrem), Nitoria Cobb, Tonia Canady (Eugene), Iesha Allen (Jamall), Tonnita Smith (De’Angelo), Gloria Smith, Toni Smith, Diamond Grandy, Godsister Mary Jackson, brothers Darion Baker, Kevin Canady, Cameo Powell, Steven Stokes, Mario Sparkman.  He will also be greatly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.  Special Uncle Duwayne Payton, Special Aunt Nadine Canady, Special niece birthday twin Markia Brewer, special cousins Mathew Canady, Edward Evans, Special son Lane “LR” Ravey, his other mother Tonia-Payton Brown.

Marcellus was preceded in death by his grandparents Charlse and Mary Canady, Issac and Ruth Nathan, Step-dad Robert White, brothers Markey Canady, Jamaal “J-Black” Stanciel, Aunt Carolyn Boyskins, Uncles Rickie Canady, Jimmie Canady, Cousins Harry Canady, Jr., Torra Stanciel-Battel, Ronnise Penny, and relative Bobby Jackson.

Services will be held on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Greater Grace Temple Church of God in Christ, 522 North Memorial Drive, Racine.  The family will receive guests from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at Greater Grace Temple Church of God in Christ.  Pastors Debra and Leon Brown officiating.  Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery.
