Leonard “Lennie” Boehler Jr. 90 passed away Monday afternoon June 1, 2015 in Ridgewood Care Center after a long illness. He was born May 16, 1925 in Milwaukee, the son of Leonard and June (nee: Flint) Boehler Sr. Lennie married Shirley M. Gill on September 22, 1947 in Indianapolis, IN. She passed away July 10, 2009. He was the owner and operator of Boehler Tree Service and later worked for the Racine County Parks and Recreation for 9 years. Lennie was a proud Veteran of WWII serving in the Navy aboard the USS Omaha, He enjoyed playing shuffleboard, playing the harmonica, and listening to polka, and county music. Survivors include his children; Susan (Arthur) Bodi, Leonard “Bud” (Lorrie) Boehler, Sandra Trobaugh, William Boehler, Thomas (Sandra) Boehler, and Julie (Dan) Kane, 13 grandchildren, many great and great great grandchildren, a brother Robert (Faye) Boehler, and 2 sisters; Charlotte Ludwig, and Beverly (Harold) Bertelson. Lennie is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son James, and a daughter Cheri Lee Boehler, and a brother James Boehler. Funeral Services will be Monday June 8, 2015 at 11 a.m. in Strouf Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Southern Wisconsin Memorial Veterans Cemetery in the Town of Dover. The family will receive guests on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services in the funeral home.
