George W. Gunn, Jr. 95 passed away Saturday afternoon June 13, 2015 in Aurora Burlington Hospital in Burlington, WI. He was born December 1, 1919 in Milwaukee, the son of George W. and Mathilda A. (nee: Schroeder) Gunn, Sr. George married Bernadine Konrad on May 4, 1946 in Milwaukee, WI She passed away March 21, 2008. A graduate of the University of IL, George was the owner and operator of his architect firm, retiring in 2004. He proudly served his Country in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He was a long time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where he had been a trustee, a member of the buildings and grounds committee, an usher, and a greeter before Mass. George was proud to be the architect and designer of the present St. Mary’s church building. He was a member of the American Institute of Architects, past president of the Elm Grove Kiwanis Club, and a member of the Waukesha Landmark Commission. Survivors include his sons; Brian (Patricia) Gunn, Gregory L. Gunn, and Christopher G. Gunn, 5 grandchildren; Becky C. (Kevin) Mueller, Benjamin C. (Emily Lovik) Gunn, Jenni (Conrad Thompson) Gunn, Taylor C. Gunn, and Colin M. Gunn. George is further survived by his sister-in-law Dee C. Konrad, members of the Hornack, Konrad, and Robbins-Tiscione families, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife Bernadine. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church 225 Hartwell Ave. Waukesha, Fr. Howard Haase officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. The family will receive guests on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass in St. Mary’s Church. In lieu of flowers please make memorials to the St. Mary’s Catholic Church endowment fund. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff of Fairchild Hall, and Boland Hall at the Veteran’s Home in the Town of Dover, for their exceptional care of George these past years;
