George James Yust Sr., 88, passed away on Tuesday, April 2,2024. George was born on June 14, 1935, in Ohio, the son of the late George J. and Catherine (Frank) Yust. George was united in marriage to Barbara Smith on December 17, 1955 sadly she preceded him in death in August of 2014. He was known to his family as a “Notorious  tinker”, always busy working with his hands, whether it was doing wood work, cooking, or working on houses he enjoyed every moment of it. George was a loyal dedicated father who was always the glue that held the family together. He will be deeply missed by his children, George (Cheri) Yust III., Michael Yust, Barbara Stannis, Carol Kampendahl( Shawn Nielsen) and Susan (Carl) Bauer), thirteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and brother and sister-n-law  Robert(Barbara) Yust. He will also be missed by nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, he is also preceded in death by two of his sisters. A celebration of Life for George will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph’s Church, located at 1533 Erie St. Racine, WI 53402. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to be made  to Compassus Hospice and Palliative Care(8338 Corporate Dr. Mt. Pleasant, WI). The family  would like to send a special thanks to the Hospice Nurses and Cardiac Nurses at Ascension who cared for their father.
