Ernest G. Villarreal, 71 passed away at Ascension All Saints Hospital on Thursday, August 29, 2024. Ernest was born in San Antonio, Texas on May 16, 1953, the son of Rodolfo and Julia (Garcia) Villarreal. Ernest married Dolores Cruz. Ernest was a retired carpenter, and during his retirement he enjoyed playing dominoes and cards, fishing, listening to loud music especially Tejano music, and he loved visiting his hometown. Ernest was known as a great story teller and had a unique sense of humor. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren, and riding along with his semi-driver son Jeramy and told everyone “He was the manager”. Ernest will be deeply missed by his wife Dolores, his six children, Julian (Antonia), Dolores (Don), Ernest (Lauren), Rachel (Lucas), Donna and Jeramy (Kayla) along with his siblings; Pedro, Robert, Lambert, Felix, Reynaldo, Clam, Susan, Adela, Irma, Dora and Santa. He will also be missed by his 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren as well as his nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Santos, Camilo, Benito, Rodolfo, Richard and Augustine and one sister Julia. Funeral Services for Ernest will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. in Family Worship Center, 1846 Mead Street. The family will receive guests on Sunday, September 8, 2024 from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. in Strouf Funeral Home, 1001 High Street. Burial will follow the service on Monday at Sunset Ridge Cemetery in Kenosha.
