Amelia Tovar, 64, went with the Lord on Monday, March 9, 2026 at Ascension All Saints Hospital, Racine. Amelia was born in San Miguel, De Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico on March 15, 1961 to Edmundo Tovar and Maria Remedios Gomez. On March 23, 1985 she married her husband Juan Garcia in Mexico. Amelia was a devoted woman of God and was active with her church. She enjoyed gardening, attending garage sales, cooking and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Amelia will be deeply missed by her husband Juan, son Emmanuel Garcia Tovar (his wife Virginia) and her daughter Rosemari Garcia Tovar. She will be missed by her lovely grandchildren Jacob, Keven and Nikky Garcia, along with her father Edmundo Tovar; her sisters Rosalina, Irene, Irma, Olivia, Patricia; brothers Francisco, Edmundo Geraldo and Adrian. Including many other family members and friends. Amelia was preceded in death by her mother Maria and brother Pedro. Services for Ameila will be held in Strouf Funeral Home, 1001 High Street on Monday, March 16, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. The family will receive guests in the Funeral Home on Monday, March 16, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service. Rev. Amilcar Cardona is officiating. Burial will be held at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Desoto, Texas.
