Aleksija and Dobrivoje built a family in Racine, WI where she was employed as a seamstress for 22 years, before retiring in 1993.  Aleksija was known to be the anchor of the family, a very patient woman that loved to give advice to anyone who needed it. She loved to garden and cook Serbian dishes that she learned while growing up in the old country. When Aleksija and her husband would ride in the car, he may have been the driver, but she was the one who got them to and from their destination with her keen sense of direction. Her eight grandchildren, Zoran, Goran, Dragana( Anthony), Jelena, Snezana ( Milivoje ), Natasha, Mirjana( Lenwood), Svetlana, and Sarah.
