Alfredo Bernal Sr. 76, passed away at his residence surrounded by his family on Thursday, August 15,2024 in Racine. He was born on June 28, 1948 in Sturtevant, WI, the son of the late Candelario and Beatrice (Nee:Yruegas) Bernal. Alfredo was employed for 20 yrs. At Continental Can (Later changed to U.S. Can) as a Maintenance Man, and also Liquid Containers as the Lead Line man until his retirement. On May 15, 1971 Alfredo united in Marriage to Maria Michel at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Racine.
He was the Rock of the family, who by any means necessary, would fix anything that was broken. When he wasn’t tinkering on things in his garage, Alfredo enjoyed BBQing with his family and listening to music. He was a fan of the Green Bay Packers, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and he was known to never miss any of his grandkids sport events. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 53 yrs , Maria Bernal, His three children, Alfredo Bernal Jr.(Jenny), Eric (Marisa) Bernal, and Selina (Raymond) Garcia, his nine grandchildren, Alfredo III, M.J., Marcelino, Mia, Benecio, Crucito, Sebastian, Raymond III, Angelo, and two Great- grandchildren, Lucario and Joslyn. He will also be missed by his six sisters, Rosemary, Hilda (Carlos), Viola (George), Lucy( Daniel), Lini (Jenny), Florence (Joe), three brothers, David, Johnny, Marty (Sylvia), and two sister in-laws, Lindy (Sammy) and Phyllis(Abel), as well as nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Alfedo is preceded in death by his parents, Candelario and Beatrice, two brothers, Candelario and Eric, one brother-in-law Trine, and one sister in-law, Jenny.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held for Alfredo on Tuesday, August 20,2024 at 12:30 P.M. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Racine. The family will receive guests at St. Patrick’s on Tuesday from 10:30 A.M. until the start of Mass. Interment with full military Honors will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.
Alfedo was a great man, and will be missed by his family, they will especially miss him quoting his favorite saying “DOG ASS”.

I was Freddies supervisor at Liquid container. He was a great worker and friend. He used to stop at my house when he saw me cutting the grass. I always enjoyed seeing and talking with him.
