Ilija Anastasovski, 81, of Racine passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016 in Becker Shoop Care Center. He was born February 24, 1935 in Sirkovo, Macedonja the son of Aleksandar and Pavlina Anastosovski. Ilija married his sweetheart Danka Anastasovski May 3, 1964 in Trstenik Serbia. They lived in France where their first child Aleksandar was born. Iliija graduated from Special Military school in Croatia in 1957, and continued his schooling and became a mechanical engineer in 1964.Ilija and Danka moved to America in 1966 where he worked for J.I. Case until his retirement in 1992. He was a proud member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, where he served as the church president for 3 years. Survivors include his forever grieving wife Danka, son Alekasndar (Kelli) Anastasovski and daughter Lila. 3 grandchildren Natalia, Aleksandar and Sofia and adopted son Hugo with a special friend Kathy Sieglar. He is also survived by family in Macedonja and America. A special thank you to our dear friend Dr. Mark DeCheck (our angel) and all the staff at Becker Shoop , who were extra caring and became a part of our family. Funeral services will be held in St. George Serbian Orthodox Church (826 State Street, Racine) Thursday September 15, 2016 at 10 am. Father Dragan Mitrovic officiating. The family will receive guests Wednesday evening September 14, 2016 in Strouf Funeral Home from 5-7 pm and again Thursday morning from 9:30 until the time of service. Burial will follow funeral services in Graceland Cemetery.
