Eugene Johnson, 56, of Mount Pleasant, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2017 in his home. He was born September 19, 1961 in Chicago. A high school graduate, Eugene worked as a crew member for Taco Bell for 20 years. He was a father figure to many of those he worked with because he was a support system and gave great feedback to those who confided in him. He enjoyed reading the Bible and decorating household fixtures. But his passion in life was music. Listening to Jazz, Gospel or just instrumentals would make his day and give him a smile. He will be deeply missed by his 4 children, Travis Johnson, Mona Johnson, Jacob Walker and Anthony Walker, along with his father Sylvester Johnson. He will also be missed by his close friends David S. John and Daniel along with Irene, Becky and Mellissa. Eugene was preceded in death by 1 son, Eugene J. Johnson Jr. A funeral service will be held for Eugene, Monday, October 23, 2017 in the funeral home at 11 am. Pastor Melvin Hargrove officiating. The family will receive guests on Monday, October 23, 2017 in the funeral home from 10 am until the time of service. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery.
