Perry Carothers, SR., 53, was called home on Monday, January 5, 2026. Perry was born in Racine, on October 2, 1972 to the late Calvin and Mattie Jane Carothers (Nee: Williams). Perry graduated from high School and later pursed a career as a barber and beautician. He also volunteered his time as a firefighter. Perry loved spending time with family and friends and was always willing to lend a helping hand, often doing handywork for anyone in need. Perry leaves behind to cherish his memory: five daughters: Aireol Carothers-Ward. Perra Carothers, Shavonne Carothers, Taleah Lutze-Carothers; five sons: Perry Carothers, Jr., Askari Carothers, Keleaf Carothers, Oriece Carothers and Isaiah Lutze-Carothers. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, one great-grandson; one sister Joyce Ann Carothers of Racine, four Aunts, Judi Holloway of Kenosha, Ethel Willliams and Addie Dean Williams of Grand Rapids, MI and Maddie Williams of Racine. He is also survived by One Uncle Herman Smith of Grand Rapids, MI, fourteen nieces and nephews, a host of cousins and many dear friends. He also leaves behind his pets – two cats Pumpkin and Bleu and his dog Jipsey, who was affectionately known as “PapaP”. Perry was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Mattie Jane Carothers, Grandparents Wiley and Janie Lee Williams (Nee: Samuels), Sister Jacquline “Jackie” Carothers, Brothers Larry Carothers, Calvin Carothers, Jr., Curtis Williams and Kendric Briggs; his daughter Shikyra Carothers, grandson Tyrick Harris-Carothers, five aunts and three uncles. Funeral services for Perry were held in Strouf Funeral Home on Monday, January 19, 2026.
