Jesus M. Vega, 90, of Racine, passed away at Ascension All Saints Hospital on Tuesday, February 5, 2019. He was born in Mexico to Gumercindo and Maria (Nee: Mercado) Vega. In 1956, he married Marcelina Maldonado in Mexico. Jesus loved to travel to visit his relatives in Mexico and his children and grandchild in Georgia and California. His work ethic was a sense of pride for himself and marveled by friends, family, employers, and co-workers. Jesus began his work in Mexico helping his father on their homestead, was a local Deputy in his town, spent countless hours and years on American farms, and retired from J.I. Case after 20 years. He continued his love for the land, gardening in his yard daily. He cooked what he planted and a wonderful cook he was. A loving and faithful husband and father, hard work, and humility make up much of his legacy. We always loved hearing his amazing and vivid life stories, spoken with pride and enthusiasm. Jesus will be missed by his wife Marcelina of 62 years, his children Alicia (Dennis) Dixon, Jesse (Kathleen) Vega, Rudy (Rosa) Vega, along with grandchildren Jaime, Karley and Katelyn. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Jaime Vega and 10 siblings. Funeral Mass Services will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church (1100 Erie Street) on Tuesday, February 19th at 11:30am. Family will receive guests at the church at 11 am until the time of service. At the request of family, his remains will be buried at Holy Cross Cemetery on a future date.
I am saddened to hear the passing of Mr. Vega. My family and I have known him and his family for over 40yrs and enjoyed the time we used to spend. If you knew Mr. Vega, consider yourself blessed. He and his wife became my brother’s Padrinos when my brother was 14, and that drew our families even closer.
I want to express my deepest sympathy and love to Mrs. Vega and her children and other family members.
We are so sorry for your loss. When this happens in our family we need more than human strength. God and his Son can provide what we need. Please review these scriptures : John 5:28-29 “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.” Revelation 21:4 “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
Hello. I’m Sheila and I am sending my condolences on your recent loss. I am one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and would like to share a scripture. You will be surprised to find that in the Bible at Acts 24:15 it says, “There is going to be a resurrection.” Along with God’s promise to us at Revelation 21:3, 4 of sorrow, death, and pain being done away with permanently.
It is my hope that this bit of information is of comfort to you. Please be sure to find videos, movies, articles, and even an online Bible – all free of charge for your use, along with information on the resurrection, and current events on JW.ORG
May God be with you.
Sincerely,
Sheila M. Robinson
May God comfort and guide you during this difficult time; and may the “peace of God that surpasses all understanding guard your heart and your mental powers”. Philippians 4:7.
