To Maggie and family, It is with a saddened heart we have with the news of Dean’s passing. You, Dean and the famous “Pony Express” have not only carved a place in Racine County History but in Nashville, Tn. as well. So many of the Nashville National Entertainers requested “The Pony Express Band” to front them when they came to “Vance’s Bar”. We were a team….and a great team at that. Our parents were so proud of the great music and friends you created and brought into our business and our personal lives, these memories shall never be erased nor will they be forgotten. Our Dad, John would proudly say; “The Pony Express is the greatest little band in the Midwest” and every Saturday night at Vance’s you well proved it. God Bless you Maggie and Family….Godspeed Dean and thank you for your talents, integrity and most of all your friendship.
Hi.
Sorry to hear about Dean. You and he both were great friends for Sue and I. (We lived in UG, on High Street, on the hill by the water tower.) (Sue was an EMT on the UGYFD, where the Pony Express played music on several occasions).
I wrote a note on my Facebook page (Deane Chase) about Dean and I, in years long past!
If you curious about it, you can go to my Facebook page, and see it. Otherwise, if you or the kids desire, ya’all can call me at ANY TIME, at 715-533-4926, or 715-200-1947.
Very sorry to hear of Deans passing. Our condolences to Maggie and the family. Bob and Dean have been friends since childhood. Bob has many happy memories of the Langenfeld home growing up. We have been followers of the Pony Express for many years.
I grew up with you, my friend.
You will be missed. May the music play on…
Dan Montee
So many fond memories of Dean and the Pony Express…hours of dancing and always a tear or too at the end of the night and their tribute to all of our friends that died in Viet Nam.
I’m sure you’ll be right at home with all the musicians that passed before you and right their to welcome those to come. That heavenly band is blessed to have you.
So sorry to hear about Dean’s passing. He was truly my mentor in the early days. A real guitar virtuoso and inspiration. Our first performance together was in 1962 at a bar on State street (the Rush Club). I remember going to his home to practice. I’ve never met anyone who was so smooth on lead guitar. He will be sorely missed but his music will live on in our memories.
“God set aside this time to let us all go back to yesterday”.
