Catherine (Jeanne) Box April 4th, 1925 – July 6th, 2024 Catherine (Jeanne) Box, 99, passed away peacefully Saturday July 6th, 2024 at her Daughter’s home surrounded by the love of her family. She resided happily at Fountain Hills for over 20 years before her move. She was born April 4th, 1925 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Velma and Leo Cashen. During WWII she supported the American war effort through her work. She was also a Graduate CNA in her early years. On January 19, 1947 in Denver, Colorado, she married the love of her life Larry Box. She became a devoted wife and mother and they shared 56 years together. Together they raised their 3 children while living in Superior, WI. Denver, CO. and finally settling in Racine, WI. Together they enjoyed roller skating, square dancing, bicycle trips, and many, many camping trips with the family. She enjoyed traveling with the Harvest club, family outings and events. She was always ready to go anytime, anywhere! Jeanne also enjoyed reading and watching western shows on TV. She was a member of Christ Church Methodist and the Ladies Circle group. Jeanne is survived by her 3 loving children: John M. (Gail) Box, of Eden Prairie, MN, Catherine M. Anderson, of Union Grove, Virginia A. Webster (Charles Tucker) of Sturtevant. Her niece, Lillian (Gerald) Olson, South Range, WI. She was also blessed with 6 grandchildren: Adam Box (Emily Moody), Sarah Box, Becky Oesau, Kevin Smailes, Matthew (Maggie) Anderson, and April (Ron) Saal. 13 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great Great Grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husband Larry in 2003, her brothers: John Cashen, and James M. Cashen, sister-in-law, Gladys Bachman, son-in-law, James Anderson, niece, Phyllis Moen, nephew, John Patrick Cashen, grandson, Bradley W. Webster, great grandsons, Hudson W. Anderson, and Ryan S. Oesau. She will be forever loved and missed by her family and friends. XOXO. The family would like to thank Horizon Hospice for their support and compassionate care.
Services honoring Jeanne’s life will be held Saturday July 13th at Strouf Funeral home. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. with services at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at West Lawn cemetery. The family would like to invite you to a gathering for lunch at 2:00 p.m. in the “C” Community Room at: Fountain Hills 1100 Fountain Hills Drive MT. Pleasant, WI
