Maria Guadalupe Garcia, 88, of Racine, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2020 surrounded by her loving family joined in songs and prayer at her bedside at home. She was born December 9, 1931 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Born the daughter of Martin and Mercedes (NEE: Padilla) Ibarra. Maria married the late Leon Garcia on February 16, 1950. Maria was a devout Catholic, she liked to read the bible and learn about saints and pray the rosary. She loved cooking and making flour tortillas for her entire family. Most of all she cherished the time spent with her family. Maria will be deeply missed by her children Genoveva (David) Garcia, Maria Guerrero, Hermelinda (Lauro) Davalos, Ramona (Humberto) Delgado, Estevan (Karen) Garcia, Guadalupe (Robert) Lucero, Alicia (Leo) Villa and Mercedes (Gilberto) Hernandez. She will be dearly missed by 24 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by many family and dear loved ones from Mexico near and far. Maria is preceded in death by her husband Leon, parents Martin and Mercedes, grandsons Danny and Matt, and two infant children. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 12:30 p.m. at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church (1100 Erie Street). The family will receive guests on Friday, February 21, 2020 at the church from 10:30 a.m. until time of mass. Interment to follow at West Lawn Memorial Park (9000 Washington Avenue).
