Lester Muir, 96 of Racine passed away Friday March 17, 2017 in Ascension All Saints Hospital. He was born March 22, 1920 in Sesser, IL. the son of Harrison and Nettie (Nee: Wall) Muir. He married his 1st wife Ruth Schaefer in 1947, she passed away in 1970. Lester then married his 2nd wife Helen in 1972 and she passed away in 2015. Lester worked as a welder for Racine Steel Castings of 32 years before retiring in 1980. A proud military veteran of the U.S. Army, Lester loved to garden, watch his favorite baseball team, The Brewers, and write his own and listen to music. But most of all he was a faithful man of God. He will be deeply missed by his special friends Kevin, Karen, Christopher and Courtney. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, his 1st wife Ruth and 2nd wife Helen. A funeral service will be held Tuesday March 21, 2017 at 5 pm in Strouf Funeral Home. Pastor Ryan Reed officiating. The family will receive guests in the funeral home on Tuesday March 21, 2017 from 4pm until the time of service, Burial will be private per Lester’s wishes.
