Jovita Maldonado, 82 passed away Friday December 1, 2017 in Ascension All Saints Medical Center.  She was born February 15, 1935 In Santa Fe, Jalisco, Mexico the daughter of Jose and Vita (nee: Nuno) Maldonado.  Jovita married Silviano Garcia in 1954 in Mexico.  He passed away in May of 1970.  A homemaker, she was also a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Survivors include her children, Javier (Perla) Garcia, Yolanda (Jesus) Maldonado, Miguel (Ofilia) Garcia, Guadalupe (Clara) Garcia, Jose (Maribel) Garcia, Jesus Garcia, Silvia (Javier) Ortiz, 20 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, a brother Vincente (Maria) Maldonado, and two sisters, Josefina (Norberto) Saenz and Maria Maldonado.  Jovita is also survived by special nieces Gabriella and Veronica Martinez, and a special nephew Eduardo Martinez, other nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, three sisters and a brother. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday December 8, 2017 at 3 p.m.   in St, Patrick Catholic Church 1100 Erie St. Fr. Antony Thomas officiating.  Burial will be in Mexico.  The family will receive guests on Thursday in Strouf Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:45 p.m. and on Friday in Church from 2 p.m. to time of Mass.
