Conception Tobias, 100, passed away in her home on Tuesday February, 14, 2017. She was born in San Marcos, Texas, October 21, 1916, the daughter of Torivio and Canuta (Nee: Garcia) Castandea. She married Escolastico Tobias April 23, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas. Escolastico passed in 1999. A homemaker, Conception loved to crochet, embroider, and spend time taking care of her flowers in her garden. She loved drawing, bird watching and cooking whatever her children asked for. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by her 7 children, Leonard (Rosa) Tobias, Consepcion (Frank) Rosalez, Mary Ann (Benito) Torres, Rosendo (Lydia) Tobias, Tony (Diana) Tobias, Thomas (Paula) Tobias and Pearl (Jesse) Torres, along with 26 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. 1 brother-in-law Petronilo Guzman and other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Conception was predeceased in death by her parents, husband Escolastico, 3 brothers, 1 sister, 1 son, 2 grandchildren and 2 son-in-law’s. A funeral service will be held Monday, February 20, 2017 in the Racine Family Worship Center (1846 Mead St.) at 10:30 am. Pastor Lupe Torres officiating. The family will receive guests Monday in church from 10 am until the time of service and Sunday February 19, 2017 in the funeral home from 5 until 7pm.
